Oscar S. Garcia

 

Oscar Garcia is an aerospace industry expert and the founding Partner, Chairman and CEO of InterFlight Global Corporation (IFG), an aviation, aerospace and space economic, business and financial development consulting and advisory firm, in business in the United States of America since 1992.

 

His business experience ranges from funding start up ventures to designing joint ventures amongst medium and large sized aerospace enterprises. His expertise includes, but is not limited to the design, set up, growth and expansion of aerospace companies, their R&D, sales and support networks networks as well as their relevant support investment  Boards and Committees. Amongst other aerospace business experience, Oscar is a former Managing Partner of commercial aircraft leasing company and former President and CEO of an USA FAA 135 charter airline.

 

Oscar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Science and Technology with an Aerospace Engineering specialization from San Diego State University, as well as a Masters Degree in Aviation and Aerospace Business Administration (MBA) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds FAA/JAR Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor licenses as well as Instrument and Multi-Engine certificates with a total flight time of over 8,500 hours in a variety of aircraft and flight simulators.

 

He is a Senior Board Advisor, Consultant and Project Leader in the areas of Air Transportation Aviation, Aerospace and Space Transportation Private-Public; Economic Development, Strategic Planning, Financing, Sales and marketing and also optimization of Commercial Spaceflight Operations and Investments worldwide.

 

Oscar is the Chairman of the Fast Forward Group, a leading Suborbital Transportation Think Tank with an intense focus on Point to Point space transportation. He also serves as an FAA-Aviation Safety Team member, US DOT FAA/AST Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee (COMSTAC) member, Chairman of the Standards and Systems Working Group  and active on both the Operations and Reusable Launch Vehicles and International Space Policy Working Groups.

 

He is a former Space Florida Board Advisory Committee, Beacon Council Aviation Committee Board and the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Business School Industrial Advisory Board. He is also a past President and current Chairman of the Aerospace Committee for the prestigious Greater Miami Aviation Association (GMAA) Board of Directors. The GMAA is the dorsal spine of the aviation and aerospace industries socio-economic affairs in Southern Florida.

 

Oscar is affiliated with and is an active participant as a provider of consulting services for ICAO, strategic partner for IATA, member of the National Business Aviation Association and other aerospace trade organizations with global reach.

 

In his relentless pursuit of air safety and regulatory compliance, Oscar has been an FAA Air Safety Counselor at the Flight Standards District Office level in Los Angeles and Miami since 1997 and actively engages in research studies with the FAA, NTSB and NASA.

 

In Oscar Garcia’s over twenty five years of aviation experience he has served as Captain and First Officer as well as instructor pilot in aircraft ranging from the Fairchild Metroliner and Saab 340 to the Boeing 747-400 and 777-200/300. Oscar’s non-flying airline duties at have included experience as a Flight Data Analyst, Flight Planning Analyst and Pilot Recruitment Officer. In addition he was Chairman of the American Eagle - ALPA Professional Standards Committee at the DFW base from 1995-1997.

 

Oscar is affiliated and an active member of the International Civil aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Latin American Aerospace Association (ALA), Latin American Air Transport Association (ALTA) and others.

He has acted as an expert witness on behalf of large aerospace corporations and he is a regular aerospace media commentator in Latin America.

 

Oscar is a well known media commentator, occasional consultant to audio visual media worldwide, panelist, speaker and Chairman of multiple global aviation and aerospace events.
